Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Terminal 3 (China)
Products Used: Colored continuous welded stainless steel roofing.
Highlights:
This is the first colored continuous welded stainless steel project in China and one of the world’s largest single-terminal buildings.
The project innovatively uses colored stainless steel as the primary roofing material. The design draws inspiration from the flowing forms of “clouds and rivers” Und “white clouds,” resembling a blooming kapok flower when viewed from above.
Continuous welding technology ensures a “seamless” roof over a massive area (153,500 sqm), providing excellent waterproofing and wind resistance.
This case demonstrates that colored stainless steel can serve not only as a decorative element but also as a primary structural and functional material in large public buildings, combining aesthetics with engineering excellence.
