Stainless steel curtain wall application case

With the continuous advancement of building material processing and performance, the use of stainless steel in curtain walls has become increasingly applicable in recent years as a new support method. Stainless steel curtain wall tie rods, also known as stainless steel support structure point-type glass curtain walls, have contributed to the rapid development of urban architecture.

Stainless Steel Curtain Walls

Depending on the different supporting structures of stainless steel materials, stainless steel curtain wall tie rods mainly come in the following forms.

The first is the metal support structure point-type glass curtain wall. This is currently the most commonly used style. It uses stainless steel as the supporting structure, with stainless steel connectors and fasteners firmly securing the face glass to it, making it extremely safe and reliable. This fully demonstrates the flexibility of stainless steel structures to meet architectural design needs, allowing the entire supporting structure to be clearly visible through the glass. The transparency of the glass and the sturdiness of the stainless steel structure, the strength and beauty, the virtual and the real, are fully embodied.

The second type is the all-glass structure point-type glass curtain wall. In this structure, the glass support structure and the face glass are connected by metal connectors and fasteners to form a single integrated structure, forming the building envelope. The materials are inexpensive and easy to install. The glass surfaces and ribs create a wide view, allowing users to see inside and out.

The third type is the stainless steel tie-rod structure point-type glass curtain wall. This uses stainless steel tie rods or cables corresponding to the glass joints to form the curtain wall’s support structure. The glass is secured by metal connectors. In construction, by improving machining precision, all components are tension rods. Therefore, prestressing is applied during construction to reduce the risk of glass breakage during vibration.

In addition to traditional stainless steel plates, stainless steel curtain walls can also be made from stainless steel composite panels. The bottom surface of this stainless steel curtain wall is formed by a layer of stainless steel and a layer of aluminum. It can also be customized with a double-layer stainless steel composite panel, with a core made of polyester or fire-resistant material.

Stainless steel composite panels not only better meet modern aesthetics but also offer the advantages of lightweight and high cost-effectiveness. In addition to stainless steel curtain walls, they are also widely used in architectural decoration applications such as exterior wall decoration, elevators, outdoor facilities, and interior decoration.
